Christmas 2012

Iceland Day 4

Wow I am so behind on the blogging!
Here are some pictures from our last day in Iceland from our tour of "The Golden Circle".
This was by far our FAVORITE day and also the least expensive as all of the sites are free.

Driving to the Golden Circle we saw a lot of steam rising out of the ground. The landscape is really unique here.

Getting ready to check out "Thingvellir".

E-man was loving the pack. The walking paths here were really nice and the landscape was beautiful!

Thingvellir is the site of  the first known parliment. Parliment was held here for 2 straight weeks every summer dating back to the 9th century. Everett found it all very fascinating.

Hundreds of years ago people traveling here for parliment would camp along this natural corridor.

Moving on to check out "Geysir", our second stop on the Golden Circle Tour.
This is not the famous "Geysir" but one of several in the area.
Adam couldn't resist feeling the warm water from the erupted geyser.
It isn't that easy to take a cool photo of an erupting geyser--- especially when it's overcast.
"Adam get in this picture with the erupting geyser!!!"

OK there! That looks better.

Whew! That's hot.

Now onto our final stop: Gulfoss

Everett is losing his enthusiasm...
We aren't as close to the edge as it looks.
