Daily Visitors

We've been visited by a flock of turkeys on an almost daily basis this fall. Turns out all those acorns that are such a pain to rake up are their favorite food.

Today I counted 23 turkeys in our front yard. They make quite the spectacle! We had cars stopped in front of our house observing them all morning.

Some other fun facts about the turkey:

• Ben Franklin opposed the Bald Eagle as our national bird and thought the turkey more appropriate
• Turkeys are omnivores and will eat nuts, grasses as well as small snakes and lizards
• Turkeys have 5000-6000 feathers
• A baby turkey is called a poult

11 Months

I can't believe Everett is already 11 months old. Crazy. He's already his own little man with so much personality. He's absolutely hilarious!!! And so adventerous. It's so fun to watch him discover the world. Here are a couple pictures from the last few days.

Happy Halloween!

For E's first Halloween he was a giraffe. He had his girlfriend, Harlow the ladybug, over for some playtime while us adults passed out candy, had some pot roast and delicious black cherry wine from Door County.
