We've been visited by a flock of turkeys on an almost daily basis this fall. Turns out all those acorns that are such a pain to rake up are their favorite food.
Today I counted 23 turkeys in our front yard. They make quite the spectacle! We had cars stopped in front of our house observing them all morning.

- Ben Franklin opposed the Bald Eagle as our national bird and thought the turkey more appropriate
- Turkeys are omnivores and will eat nuts, grasses as well as small snakes and lizards
- Turkeys have 5000-6000 feathers
- A baby turkey is called a poult
