Day One
We arrived in Reykjavik at around 7:30am and after getting through customs we attempted to locate our rental car office. We were so exhausted apparently we missed the man holding the sign with our name on it waiting to take us to the rental car office. Eventually a nice Icelander let us borrow his cell phone to call the office and we picked up our car and headed to Reykjavik 40 miles away.

| The toppings on the hot dogs were a little strange. I couldn't get past the crunchy fried onions on it. Adam muscles through and finished his but didn't like it either. |
We weren't able to check in to our hotel until 3pm.

Day Two
On Day 2 we drove to the Blue Lagoon... which happens to be right by the airport 45 minutes from Reykjavik. It was a cloudy, rainy day perfect for enjoying the hot springs. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the actual lagoon since I don't have a waterproof case for our point and shoot camera. It is huge and the water is an ice blue color, sourrounded by volcanic rock. The bottom of the lagoon has some white mud/silt which is supposedly rich in minerals and supposed to be good for the skin. We rubbed it all over our faces and on Everett's armpit and shortly afterwards his molloscum and dermatits which we've been battling for months completely went away! Maybe just coincidence but I think it was that special mud :)

This was a great stop for a late lunch after the lagoon in the nearby seaside town of Gridivik.
The staff were so accomadating and literally rolled out a carpet for E to play on and brought him a bin of toys.
And the food was delicious! Fresh fish. |

There is a HUGE long and deep tunnel that goes under a large inlet just north east of Reykjavik. We thought it would be fun to check out for some reason.....
It was actually a little scary to keep driving deeper and deeper thinking about the ocean on top of us.
We were rewarded by being forced to pay a $10 toll when we got to the other side and promptly turned around. |
Day Three

| After whale watching we drove to Stokkseyri on the southern coast to check out a restaurant I heard about |
